I'm trying to create an SVCD with dual language and selectable subtitles (anime).
I'm stuck trying to multiplex the MPEG2 file, audio and subtitle wise.
Perhaps the problem lies with the encoding of the video stream.
It began as frameserved AVI from VirtualDub. It was processed through TMPEnc as MPEG-2 Video, 480 x 480, 4:3 aspect, 29.97 fps, 2-pass VBR, NTSC video.
In the TMPEnc settings menu, under the video tab, Encode mode: Inverse 3:2 pulldown is selected (it is suggested by TMPEnc for anime). Under the Advanced tab, 3:2 is again selected. Might the two be cancelling each other out?
Each audio stream is 192kbps/44Hz. When I multiplex them together, I cannot watch more than the first few seconds before any viewer hangs.
Also, I cannot get subtitles to mux into either the video-only stream or the post multiplex MPEG. I have tried several formats of subtitles in SubRip. submux and winsubmux refuse to accept any format of subtitle.
Any thoughts?
