    hello! im new to this so please bare with me. ive tried converting divx 2 vcd using TMPGEnc, and im trying to make the converted file be widescreen as it is when its in divx form. but i am having no success. ive tried manipulating the settings to no evail.. please someone help me!!! i dont want to cut off 1/3 of the movie so i can use it in my dvd player. thanks in advance!!

    In TMPGEnc you select Full screen > keep aspect ratio, this maintains the size without stretching or loosing part of the frame., it also means you will get black borders at the top and button of the movie, but on a Widescreen TV you can "Zoom" to remove them.

    You are making a VCD not DVD !!!

    Depending on the source, you may be able to crop out any "Small" boarders around the movie, and make it full screen (Not widescreen)
