Mass Batch Conversion?

Hello!

I just wondered what you would consider a good program to use for converting numerous avi files to differing formats of mpg and Real Media if possible?

There are a few that I would like to be able to put onto a VCD, but there are even more that I would like to be able to use on webpages on the internet.

So far, when I have done a VCD I have had to use Ulead to convert my avi files from the high compression format they are saved in from my Matrox G400 settings. I have to convert them to full quality avi format at PAL resolution before I can convert properly to VCD using TEMPEnc and VCDEasy. As you can imagine it takes a fair amount of time for me to convert from avi to VCD!

However when I am converting to use on the web I just use Ulead and convert from 352x288 PAL at 25fps and 0.555MB/sec with MJPEG quality compressed at 10.3:1 and with TV Quality Audio to 320x180 Real Media format with Video at 284Kbps, Audio at 16 Kbps Total 300Kbps.

Most of the converting I wish to do will be from avi to Real Media for the web, but with a fair amount also for VCD. If you can recommend a good program for mass batch conversion of files I would be very grateful, because at the moment it takes quite a lot of time manually. It would be great if I could just leave it on overnight to do the converting. :P

Have you looked into the Project Wizard on TMPGEnc? It lets you specify a project with all its specifications, and add it among with any other projects into a batch file, to be ran at your convenience. I have three projects in mine I plan on running tonight while I sleep.
