  1. I've been having a problems with VirtualVCR. I like the program I was wondering if anybody could post their settings. One of the problems I have is Audio/Video is out of sync. Second, I really need to know a guide or settins of how to setup the codec piece. I captured an avi file using Picvideo for about 1 min and the size was about 256mbs. So if anybody knows a successful guide like the one posted in vcdhelp "How to Capture with Virtualdub" but with VirtualVCR I would appreciate it.

  2. I would like to know the same? I would like to know the optimum settings for this to copy Hi-8 to DVD-R. Do I use a codec for the AVI capture? If so are they built into VirtualVCR, because they show up in a popdown? What is the best free one (besides huffy)?

  4. My best experience with Virtual VCR is to use the Morgan Media codec, I have 2. One captures about 200mb in 1 sec the other capture about 60mb in 1 sec, which is the one I use (Think its called Morgan media mpegJ codec or something similar, I'm not at my capturing machine right now). I then change the quality from 75% to 90% and capture at 640x480. Really depends on what you want to do with the end product. I have being encoding it with TMPGEnc then saving to SVCD CD-R's using Nero, works pretty well. I also check the "Re-sample audio to match video" under the AV Sync tab.

  5. When using VirtualVCR, as a previous post indicated, check the "Re-sample audio to match video" box in the AV sync tab. Also the quality of you sound card affects audio sync. A cheap sound card might not be able to keep the sync with the video capture card. I use VirtualVcr and a AverTV Stereo TV tuner card and I can capture hours of video straight with no problems with audio/video sync. I also use the picvideo mjpeg codec, click on the properties box next to the field where you select the codec and change the quality setting to 19.

  6. El_Seed or anyone,

Can u get the timer function to perform properly. I don't know if it's a problem with VirtualVCR or Windows but everytime I set the timer it says it succeeded yet no capture occurred? I am setting it up using the Task manager as described on the web site. Any insights would be helpful. Thanks.
