when i try to copy a dvd to my harddrive it wont let me cuz its copywrited how do i get around this since u cant just copy dvd-dvdr

You need to do some reading....like the how to guides at the left here...
In short...yes DVD's are encrypted,....It was suppose to be an unbreakable encryption scheme that would not allow any form of copying... But a few years ago it was broken and the source code was released on the web.... This enables ripping programs , such as Smart Ripper to see the files, decrypt them and copy them to your computer.(rip)
Look for one of the DVD rip guides on the left...... -

ok i treied it already with smartripper the movie is how high it say that it is locked or somethin how i do it from there

Close SmartRipper if its open......
Then open the movie with your DVDplayer software that is on the computer..play a few minutes of the actual movie...then hit pause....
Then open Smart ripper ...once it start to copy you should close player.
