i'm using TMPGEnc to encode a 2:30 hour movie and it takes
my PIII 500 computer 15 hours to encode it.
am i doing something wrong or is that how long it takes?

I have a P3 1ghz system and mine takes about the same time. Your most likely doing it correctly it just takes a frkn lifetime to rip one. Especially that long of a movie.

I have the same comp and 15 hours is the time you spend on average quality SVCD.
Once, I tried to set up everything best, it took 38 hours.

that process is pretty normal, i have 1300athlon with 256mb and mine take 5 to 6 hours, one thing i have read is that you can clip and resize the movie and take away the black bars around the movie
