Re-using CD-RW

K guys I have both Easy CD creator 5.X and Nero 5.5.3.5 and I want to reuse a cd-rw and it doesn't work.. pls tell me if I'm doing something wrong
I formated it with both apps from ECDC and Nero and after I burned it didn't work on my dvd anymore.. my dvd says no disk

erase them, not format them. never use those packet-writing things like directCD or whatever.

I've run into the same problem as well.

When I open an unformatted CD-RW and use it the first time (I'm using NERO) I get a working VCD. If I want to overwrite that disc, Nero complains that no disc is present. When I reformat the disk with Easy CD Creator, Nero still complains that no disc is present.

How do I go about erasing the disk as opposed to reformatting it? Is there a setting in Nero to erase prior to burning?

Other than this problem, the entire process seems to be easy enough

Never erase/format with one burner software and then use another burner software to write to the disc. They seem to use different methods of erasing. I use WinOnCD and CDRWin and both erase in different ways - leading to problems when you try burning with the other program

with nero just hit the cd-recorder tab up top than hit erase cdrw
