  1. I am in the process of encoding an AVI to SVCD Mpeg2. I am spitting the movie (collateral damage) into 3/36 minute disks. Each disk is taking me about 2 1/2 hours each one to encode?

Does TMPGEnc allow multi tasking? What I mean is there a way to load all three encodes? So I can say do this at night while I am sleeping?

I have been getting up like in the middle of the night to start another encode and am like staying up ......

If there is a way can some one tell me how? Or a link to a site that explains it if possible? Thanks so much!!!

  2. As a matter of fact there is. After u save, for example..Collateral Damage-1.mpg...click the file menu and then select 'Save project". Do that for each part of the encode. Then under the file menu select, "Batch Encode". Load the save project file that you created, I believe they are in the *.tpr format, and select "Run". Then bro, get yourself a good night of uninterrupted sleep and check your completed files in the morning.

are you using an old version?
my version asks at the last page of the wizzard: start encode / add another file for batch encoding ?

so you can add as many files as you want, you don't have to save project files or so.

ps: this has nothing to do with multitasking, cos the files will be processed sequentially.
you can use multitasking by starting several instances of the application, but that's not useful, cos the total processing capacity doesn't change.
