Hi!
I've been playing with my A-04 and the free DVD-RW it came with, and as far as I can tell, they're great!!
Sure, 1x writing is a bit of a pain, but really, does it matter?
Apparently DVD-RW had some "issues" with VBR, or something like that. But, as far as I can tell that only relates to set-top box recorders, and has nothing to do with creating UDF DVD's with files on them.
Both my 5-disk GE and Apex 1100W play VCD/SVCD fine, simply as files thrown on the DVD-RW
Thoughts?

I have the Pioneer A04 and I burn EVERY DVD project to a DVDRW first to make sure I dont burn any coasters. (My first experience burning cds still fresh in my mind)
But so far have not burned one coaster.
VBR CBR DVDRW makes no difference on my Pioneer DV344 stand alone player. But that sucker will play anything.
