  1. No matter wich file and settings I'm using in CCE, I allways get an error message when I try to encode: Read only 0 bytes, while expecting 8 bytes. I've had had this problem with both CCE 2.62 and 2.64, how can I solve this?

  2. I guess your trying to encode from an .avi file source?

Well try this. Load the .avi file into virtual dub. In both Video & Audio menus select "direct stream copy". Then goto File > Save Old Format Avi".

Use this new file to load into CCE.

Let us know whether this has fixed it.

  3. Wow! it really worked!
I guess I'll keep on doing it, but if there's a way to encode without this step then it's better, I just don't like the sound of 'Old Format' (what does it mean anyway?)

Anyway thanks, it really helped me.

  4. It will only do it on certain avi's and it seems to be a problem with newer versions of CCE - stick to 2.50SP and 99% will be fine.

Newer versions of CCE simply are worth the hassle imho.

  5. i am having the same problem.

    i use:
    -windows2000
    -CCE 2.5
-capture with wintv go (i know it's not exactly the best capture card) to .avi
-use VD and "save old format .avi" with audio and video in direct stream copy
-drag and drop .avi into CCE
-attempt to encode and windows states that "CCE has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will have to restart the program"

i'm at a loss for converting .avi to with CCE. any help would be greatly appreciated
