I'm caputuring video using Ulead Video Studio 6.0, from a digital video camera via firewire, and it has horizontal black lines through the video?
I want to convert it to SVCD, but not like that!
Anyone know what is happening?
Thanx
Robin

Do you notice the lines more when there is quick movement? If so, you are probably seeing the effects of watching interlaced video on a progressive display.

Nope. There are lines all the time.
I am watching on my monitor.
I just click record in Video Studio, but dont re-encode.... just import the dv avi into tmpgenc. converting to svcd with interlace or without still produces the lines. -
Hum, can you run the avi in vdub? If so try using the deninterlace filter and then frameserve to your encoder.

That person seems to be having a lot of trouble and you can try some of the methods shown in that post.MonsterMike
