Hi, Im looking to get a firewire card , not looking to spend too much thought, i heard that the cards from VIA werent that hot and to stay away from, i heard Texas Instruments based cards were good, i also have some one who want to sell me there used Pyro DV 300 card, and how about D-links cards, i want it for my DV Camcorder, so any suggestions and info on what i asked would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I have two systems that I use the SIIG firewire card in and they both work great. I believe that the SIIG is Texas Instruments chip based and I too heard that they were pretty good, so I went with them.
I capture video from my HI8 camcorder and burn to a DVD recorder, both hook up to the firewire cards in each machine.
I picked up the last SIIG card for like $40 from a local computer shop... I thought that was a reasonable price compared to some of the ones I have seen on eBay and Pricewatch that have some generic names that I never heard of before...
