  1. Heres what Ive got
    Pent 4 1.8
    256 DDR
ATI All in Wonder Radeon 8500
    Soundblaster Audigy Platinum EX
    Pioneer A-04
I am using the ATI software to capture directly off my satellite to MPEG2. It captures fine. What I need to know is what software do I use to edit the video. Like cut out commercials. Also, the ATI software captures to MPEG2 740x480, DVD quality. Can I just take this video and burn it to a DVD or is there something that needs to be done to make it work. Or is there better software out there that will let me capture MPEG2 that is better than the ATI? Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks Boxingjunkie

look to the left under "how to" and click "author". then scroll down and read the guide under "How to author and burn MPEG2 to a compliant DVD". you will need a authoring program

You can use TMPGenc to do this. Use the "merge and cut" feature in the MPEG Tools section.
It's not what you know. It's what you can prove.

I was referring to removing commercials from your captured video in my previous post.

I find that the capture software that came with my ATI is far superior to the capture software with my capture card.

As jkl stated the tutorials are the way to go.

  5. I captured my video as an MPEG2 for DVD. But when I try and open it in Ulead DVD Movie Factory it says it is not a compliant MPEG2 file. I used TMPGE to edit the commercials out. Anyone who what I did wrong? Any help is appreciated.
