  1. I am new at this so please bare with me. I have sucessfully taken an .avi file and converted it to an .mpg file using TMPGenc. However when I try to copy the .mpg file to a .vcd using Nero all I get on the cd is folders, no movie. I am able to play the .mpg on the pc and everything looks fine. I even used the examples on this page for step by step instructions but have not had any luck. I have also tried using Easy Cd Creator/ Video Cd Creator and I get the same thing, just folders. So if anyone could help me that would be great.

  2. With nero, select new project and pick video cd. Import the movie, Nero will scan the movie to make sure its compliant, and then it will burn it properly.

  3. Thank you, but I have tried that several times. All I get are fresbies. It records what is in the top, left, box of the screen. When I drag and drop the movie into the box beneath it it shows and plays just fine. Then when I push the write button, all it seems to record is the files that are in the box above where I have dragged and dropped the movie. No movie!

  5. You are great!!! I looked and yes it is there and it plays good using Windows Media Player. Now I am wondering why my Sony DVD/VCD player will not read it. Any more great help that you can give would be appreciated!

  6. You should check the player compatibility section of this site and see if your player is compatible with cdr discs or not. My old dvd player played vcds perfectly, but it couldn't read cdr so I could only play store-bought vcds (which are very rare where I live).

SONY usually doesn't support 'home-made' CDR's to play.
This is typically of SONY, while most other branches does. If you really want to play your own VCD's at your TV, I think you got no other option than to buy a new player (then take one that does play cdr's - like Pioneer or Philips, which does do that).
