I have transcoded a divx file with TMPGenc plus 2.56.39.143 to MPEG2 so I can put on on a vcd for my dvd player. When I try to cut the film with the mpeg tools I end up missing some audio at the end of the part. The longer the clip the more audio is missing. (40 minutes film about 1 minute missing)
I open the file in the MPEG Tools double click. Enter the end time, click OK. Enter the filename and run. When the process finishes I am missing audio at the end of the part. Am I doing something wrong? Anybody any idea?
The divx plays with no problems before transcoding. The generated mpeg2 file also plays fine with no sync problems or audio missing. The audio does not go missing until I use the mpeg tools. Before I start encoding I always extract the audio to wav with virtualdub and use this wav as audio input for TMPGEnc. VirtualDub gives a warning when I open the original AVI. 'VirtualDub has detected an improper audio encoding in....'
Anybody any idea?
Thanks for your input.

Don't cut in TMPG... Encode it first, you can cut it afterwards.
I had the same problem to ( a year ago).... -
Use BBMPeg to cut - it's a bit clunky, and if you're picky like me it takes 2 or three tries to get the cut where I want it, but the audio is always perfect. The details are to the left in the "Edit" How To.
