  1. Okies, I've never done any sort of video capturing before, nor do I have much of a clue about the hardware required, so, my question is: What's better for capturing video, an ATI All-In-Wonder(damn thats a corny name) or an ATI TV Wonder(that little USB thing with the A/V ports)? I figure the AIW gets better performance speed wise, but the TVW is portable. So, if I bought the TVW, would it get shitty capturing along with slow speed? and the AIW, I'd havta prerecord everything I wanted to get and stick a VCR in the room with the comp. is the annoyance worth it?

Depend on the format you try to capture in MPEG1 not problem with today fast CPU but MPEG2 forget you better off getting real hardware MPEG2 capture card being the ATI AIW is base soft codec also you have to put with macrovision copy protection carp.
How ever that should change ocen the ATI R300 get here they say it going support MPEG2 and MPEG4 but real questions is can ATI write real good drivers for it.
Check the ATi 2001/2002 Roadmap http://www.rageunderground.com/
