I'm getting a very annoying high-pitched tone when encoding to VCD (NTSC) format from DV (NTSC 704x480, 29.97fps VBR, audio: 224 Kbps, layer 2, 48 kHz stereo) in TMPGEnc. I have tried converting audio to WAV, tried with and without using tooLame with same result. I can get rid of the offensive sound by editing in sound editor with equalizer, but it's a real pain in the ass. Anyone know what might be causing this and how to prevent?
