  1. basic question/confirmation:

if i am capturing from NHS tapes into the system to finnally create a VCD,
is there any point in capturing above 352x288?

would capturing at a higher resolution and then using tmpgenc to render it to 352x288 to create a vcd improve the quality of the final vcd? (given all other parameters being same)

  2. Yes it would. Slightly, but noticable.

BUT: Make sure that capturing at a higher res doesn't give you frame drops. and try to capture at a multiple of the current resolution. 704x576 is good. This makes even better quality because when reencoding it doesn't have to be scaled on some strange size (1:17543) instead on simply (1:2) for both horizontal and vertical pixels.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, but to be sure, your can capture a short video at each resolution and convert them to compare them for yourself.
    Hello.
