I trying to sort this thing out I have made a few svcds but would like to know what does bitrate and resolutionof the input file have to do with the quality of the output file is there a min bitrate and resolution that I should look for before wasting my time downloading a file?

If you DLL movies, you better look at the RESOLUTION. Movies with a resolution of 640*400 are pretty good. the higher it goes, the better the quality is, the lower it does, the worse the quality is
