  1. For TMPEGenc I want to convert an avi file, it works just no sound. I followed the instructions for this problem but another problem arose. Virtualdub won't except my files. It says that they are ASF files when they are really avi files. I downloaded an earlier version of Virtualdub but it still won't open the files, is there another program I could use to get the AVI or MPEG wav files? If so what is it called? Where can I get it? And how do I use it?

You can extract the audio part of the avi file via TMPGEnc. Load the avi / mpeg in the audio source file and then choose "File">>"output to file">>"wave file"
