When I capture anything using Digital VCR in Windows XP it only seems to capture a few seconds of video but the audio plays in its entirety. THis is freeking me out. What seems to be the problem and answer.

I have the same problem, but only under WinXP. Win2K works fine. I can capture 720x480 w/o any frame drops, but I lose about 90% of my frames in WinXP.
I've installed the latest everything...ATI drivers, SP-1, Directx 8.1b (even tried Dx 9 beta)...and still the same thing. -
Sounds like macrovision is kicking in... are you taping a copyrighted movie perchance?
