    Hey all,
I read about the svcd header trick thinking it would work for me but I need help.
I made an svcd of LOTRs from the DVDrip I made.
Come to find that my dvd player only suports vcds.
Which I have made 100s and they all work great.
So anyway I tried the header trick useing the tmpgenc. to change the header from svcd to mpeg1 vcd as it said in the guide but it failed to mention how to get around using the nero non comliant vcd.
    I have nero 4.0 .
I tried burning as a svcd with nero 5.5, I tried burning as a non compliant vcd with nero 4.0 .
but what ever I do my burner won't let me burn as a regular vcd.
is there a trick I am missing?
by the way my stand alone dvd player "sanyo DWM360" does NOT like svcd or non standerd vcd so is there a way to make a normal vcd with out having to reconvert?
the DVD player won't read svcd and as for nonstanderd vcd the video and audio is very very jerky and jumpy and skips non stop same thing when I make a xvcd.
Any help would be great thanks for you time everyone......

  2. Using the 'VCD Header trick' produces a non-standard VCD. It is only used to fool some players into playing SVCD's which they would normally reject. If your player will not handle non-standard VCD's in any way shape or form it is VERY unlikley to play disks made using this technique. So your only option is to re-encode to VCD compliant spec, sorry.
