  1. I've just converted a divx to an mpg using tMPG. I used an unlocked videoCD (NTSC Film) template and changed the relavent settings to make it XVCD. I used the bitrate calc to get the bitrate (951kbps for 92mins on a 80min CD). I have done this many times with success. All the files are about 795Mb. This file however is only 692Mb. When i play the original file in Win Media player it plays fine and shows as being 92 mins long. When i try the encoded mpeg in media player it shows as 80mins long!? Virtual dub shows the original file to be 23.967 fps (NTSC Film). It starts to play alright but if i move the slider it sticks. I extracted the audio file with virtual dub as a straight .wav before encoding. I use tooLame and SSRC within tMPG to convert the audio. I get no error messages anywhere down the line. Has anyone seen this before? I have npt watched the original file all the way through so maybe there is a fault but why no error messages?

I appreciate any help at all.

I've never found a bitrate calculater that worked for me...but maybe thats me....Movies with more action take more bits..and vice versa....so I just use my own table(made from trial and error) to set bit rates....but too small is better than too big....anyway..if your happy with quality leave it alone...

Is for Media player.....i've had 2 hour movies that it sows as 1:15 and so on...but the entire movie is there.... the slider gets to the very end...counter shows 1:15 and movie continues to play for 45 more minutes....so I wouldn.t be concerned there....If you want play it in another player so you can skip to the last few minutes......(powerDVD...winDVD) and make sure the end is intact.
