I have tried all the tricks with SVCD for my Toshiba SD-K615 and it just won't do it. It will play VCD at the standard 1150k. But I'd rather deal with VHS tapes than watch that blocky awfulness. It almost plays XVCD at 2500k with a true VHS quality picture but it runs at about 90% speed (smooth but slow) and there is a definite digital tones and noise in the audio. I saw a post in the compatibility list about an SD-K610 (single disc-mine is a 5 disc changer K615) running XVCD at 3000k but it doesn't make sense to me that increasing the bitrate would help and that gobbles up a lot of disc space. I'm running out of CD-R's from all the testing. Anyone had success with this unit or have suggestions as to alterations to TMPGEnc to get this to work.
