  1. i have avi2vcd and tmpgenc and virtuadub my problem is the same with all of them i have avi's but when i try to convert to mpg i get an error that the audio file is compressed.....the properties of the movies say the audio is mpeg 3, how can i get these to be vcd compatible? i have like 15 movies in this format....

    You could load the video file into Gold Wave, save it as a .wav file. Load the video as the input video and the .wav file as input audio. That should get rid of that audio error.

    TMPGEnc handles compressed MP3 audio with no problem, sounds like you have a missing audio codec ?. Try installing the Nimo Codec pack, it has the popular MP3 codec.

    Vdub can also save AND convert the audio at the same time.

    Audio > full processing mode
    Audio > conversion > 44.1 Khz
    SAVE WAV

    If the audio is low, use Gold Wave to maximize it
