Maybe Im missing something. I dont see anywhere where there is a cache. I went to Environment>CPU and this is whats there:
Enable MMX (Which is checked)
Enable MMX-2 (Which is checked)
Enable SSE (Which is checked)
Enable SSE-2 (Which is checked)
Enable 3D now (Which is greyed out)
Use mulit-thread (Which is unchecked)
Now under Mulit thread settings everyting is greyed out. So where exactly is this setting again. Im using 2.53 Plus Registered.
Thanks Boxingjunkie![]()

Boxingjunkie:
I'm using the same version as you - right under the "Multi-thread setting" section there is another section, "Cache Setting".
Thanks for drawing my attention to this thread, I did not know about this tip and since I use VBR extensively I'm sure it will help.

D_Head- do you know if there is a similar setting in CCE which may speed that up too??? iam running version 2.50 because it is most compatable with DVD2SVCD. maybe 2.66 has the option?

CCE already does the equivalent of this. The "first" pass for a multipass encode generates the .vaf file. This is what CCE then uses to help determine bitrate distribution for subsequent passes, so to answer your question, no, there is no setting in CCE similiar to this that will speed up encoding, it does it default.Originally Posted by freak_in_cage_10k
