  1. i have done some vcd's with no problems, but im very new to svcd's so thats why i need help.

i made a svcd, but i cant play it in my pc, powerdvd, windvd, and windows media player dont play it.
i make the svcd encoding with tmpeg and burn with nero wothout any problem, also tried DVDx, DVD2SVCD, burn the cue/bin files with nero, make and burn the cue/bin with vcdeasy... but nothing, powerdvd keeps saying that the disc in the drive is not of a compatible format.
the specs i used are: 480x480, video bitrate 2376, audio bitrate 224, even check standard in DVDx and it say its ok.
the only way i can see it is using the file mode in powerdvd.
thats the way its suposed to be?, or i need a special video codec?

    please, help me...

If you are just going to watch it on your PC you might as well save yourself the trouble of creating an SVCD disc and just burn the mpeg file to a CD.

You might also try the VCD header trick mentioned on the "What Is - SVCD" page. Don't know if it works for PCs but it works like magic for stand-alone DVD players.

  5. PowerDVD will play disc mode with VCD/SVCD if it's version 4.0 or up.
