  1. I converted a couple of items from divx to svcd..they were both that 23.97 film or something like that...I chose svcdfilm with TMPGEnc to convert it..when I go to burn it with NERO it gives me errors saying its not in the correct format..that is has to be 29.97 or 25 frames per second and it wont let me burn it to a cd..

is there anything I can do about this?

Yes, you can press the "turn off standard compliance and burn anyway" button and try burning the clip even though it is not within the norm.

  3. but be warned that some dvd players can't play this frame rate, as it's not in the svcd specification (tho it is in the vcd one)... if it works, then that's fine. if it doesn't, you may want to consider doing a 3:2 pulldown and making it 29.97fps...

  5. I'm having a much different problem. I can convert my avi's, but when they are about 99%done, it tells me that i don't have the right dvd software so the movie can't play back. Then i press ok and it deletes the entire conversion and starts all over again, that is very annoying. Any suggestions?

  7. To add the pulldown you don't need to reencode - get pulldown.exe from the doom9 site (links to the left) - demux your video with TMPGEnc, run pulldown on the mpv/m2v video file, then remux and you're good to go.

In the future, on the Video tab of CCE, you can just choose "3:2 pulldown on playback" in the Encode mode: section (make sure that Video source type: is Non-interlace (progressive) in the advanced tab).

Just to clear things up I think VidGuy meant to say choose the 3:2 pulldown in Video tab of TMPGenc, not CCE.

rqtball: Also if you use the svcd ntscfilm template in TMPGenc than the 3:2 pulldown will already be set for you. I believe that you will still get an error with Nero because it doesnt like the 3:2 pulldown flag, even though its compliant. Just tell it to ignore it.

If your making svcds then you should ALWAYS try to keep your framerate at 23.976 or convert to 23.976 if possible.
