Haven't been in touch with the forum for a while, but from what I've read the past few days, I've been making so called non-compliant menus.
I use Smartripper, rip the menu file, start PowerDVD & capture the pic I want to use. Open a graphics program (for me Adobe Photoshop) convert it to 480*480 (NTSC) do the changes I want, ie: paint over unwanted stuff, add text for the sequences I want to use (ie: 1. trailer, 2. part 1, etc.) & save as .bmp.
I use an audio programm to edit the audio part of the menu to my needs.
I use TMPGEnc using tooLAME to convert the audio in one step & again to convert the .bmp to a .mpg file. I mux them both with BBMpeg to create a SVCD file.
Using TSCV I add the file as a motion menu.
So far everything I've done works. I have an APEX AD-5131 (which is supposed to be picky) & it takes them all.
Long explanation, short question... is this actually SVCD compliant or am I managing to "just make it work"?

If you are actually making a video clip at the right specs (you appear to be), then it is fine.

Good to know. I've been out of touch with the forum for a while & just kind of doing "my own thing" with SVCD's.
At least it seems I'm making pretty "standard" SVCD's. Although everything I make is for me it's nice to know someone could borrow it & use it on their player (assuming it takes SVCD) & it'll work.
