I often burn VCDs after encoding in TMPGEnc at a bitrate anywhere between 1300 and 2000 kbps.
I just burned a very small video, about 8 minutes long, and as such boosted the video up to about 7000 kbps. All I got from my player was scrambling picture and very jostling sound. Was the high bitrate the problem here? Could it have been?

to answer my own question, i guess it probably could be. i'm trying again at 3000kbps
Note to anyone who owns a Toshiba SD-2800: It is capable of playing VCDs somewhere below 7000 kbps ;D
I've heard 5000 has worked for some people, but as soon as i find a realistic limit I'll be sure to post it on the DVD player list.
