  1. Hi there, I am trying to make a vcd using 90 min cds and nero is not
recognising that i have a 90min cd in the drive. I have changed the
preferences to read yellow marker 89mins and red marker 90mins.
I am using nero 5.5.9.0. If I go into medium info it says that their is only
703mb 79mins cd in the drive. But I am using a brand new 90min 800mb
cd. It also says when the screen asks for a cd with more space is
"the medium required for the compilation is CD-R/RW and medium type
    in recorder is CD-R"
    Please help!!!

Hi there, what you need to do is open up Nero (Standard Interface) and then click on FILE, PREFERENCES, EXPERT FEATURES and then check the option enable OVERBURN and set the maximum length of your disc to 99 mins.

    Hope that helps!!

Almost all recent burners support overburning to some degree. Just give it a try. Besides, CD writers come cheap these days!

  6. Don't worry Aussie
As long as you don't overburn 2min more than the CD, you'll be just fine. (EX: 90min overburn 92min) (80min overbunr 82min)
I personally overburn my 99min cd's to 101min all the time!

If you want to know the true capacity of your CD, NERO has a utility to determine the total overburnability. I just set mine (90min) to 99 min and see how it actually stacks up. This way I was able to use my 90min CD's to record 96m33min33fr--No problems so far and you can get close to a gig on these This also lets you adjust the yellow and red markers to more accurate settings.
