Hi all![]()
I currently rip sound with dvd2avi. After i've made a Vcd to play on my standalone DVD player the sound gets scrachy when i turn it up too loud, is there a better way to rip sound, and can u rip DD 5.1 onto a vcd ?
Thanks![]()

No Surround sound, only 2 channels stereo on a VCD, you might be able to improve the sound with editing the WAV with www.goldwave.com
If you did preserve the 5.1 with the Philips software, there are no DVD players that support it, probably not even the Philips own make, The best you might do is a down mixed stereo track. However that might be just fine for DVD rips, but no use at all for any other low quality files.
