I was going by the step by step instruction of how to extract the audio from an AVI using virtual dub. Everything was going ok until I tried to save it as .wav file. And when I tried to do that, it gave me this error:
"The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format."
Any clue on what this means? Again I went step by step by the guide on audio extracting, but then it gives me that error, and not sure how to fix it or what to do now, and help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

So,you did this:
File > Open > Audio (Full Processing) > Audio (Compression...No Compression PCM) > Audio (Conversion .....if VCD 44100) > File > Save Wav."Today is only yesterdays tomorrow" -
HI wee, Yes I did exactly that, and it is giving me that error, I did it 2 or 3 times just to make sure I didnt make any mistakes, and still cant get it to save as a .wav. Any Ideas on what might be causing it? Thanks for the reply,

You may have a missing codec, or you may not be able to handle AC3 codec's.
Try Vdub AC3
http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html
If you can do this
Audio > direct stream copy
SAVE WAV
That saves it out "As is" to be converted later, but try Vdub AC3 first and make sure you have all the audio codec's (Nimo codec pack)
