Anyone know if some CDRW drives can be modified to be DVD RW

I heard somewhere that certain models of CD RW Drives with firmware and laser diode change cn be made into a DVD Writer
Has anyone any info on this?

where are you gonna get the new 650mm laser diode and the drive hopper.

If it's external, you gotta redo the USB-IDE translator bus.

Why not just buy a DVD-RW, I saw them for 249.95

a 1973 beetle would be an invention indeed..

Can be made into a porche though... Get a totall loss casco from the dump and repair usingn spareparts from other porches... Use evert boult that's fits from the beetle...and here you go...


For the serious part...

You can convert a CD-RW into a DVD RW as well as a CDROM player into a CD Recorder...You would have to replace the whole thing...

So Forget it.
