  1. I have been using Winmx and Kazaa to d/l files so far, but I decided to switch to kazaa lite and see what all the hype was about. So I removed kazaa, ran adware, removed all the suspecious files and reg., d/l kazaa lite, installed it, tried to run it and it won't connect to the site! What is wrong with it and how can this be fixed?

Did you get the latest ? 1.72 ?

When you run adware now, don't delete the cydoor (fake)

  3. When you ran adaware there was one file that you removed that shouldn't have been removed.

    cd_clint.dll

This is a dummy file that does nothing and it is what replaced the spyware file in Kazaa.

How does KaZaA Lite get around Spyware?

It gets around it, quite simply, by not installing it!

Both the Original KaZaA and KaZaA Lite (because KaZaA Lite has to work exactly the same as the Original KaZaA) actually check for CyDoor on your machine and will not run without it. However, KaZaA Lite gets around this by installing a dummy version of CyDoor, which appears correct to KaZaA, but does not serve the adverts, meaning they don't appear in KL. It also stops random pop-ups from appearing while you're using KL. This dummy version of CyDoor is from a group called Counterexploitation (CEXX).
    Uninstall kazaalite and run adaware........
Then reinstall kazaalite and leave it alone.

Or make sure that Adaware is not set to automatically delete found files and put this file in the exeptions list.

This dummy file is needed or the program won't work.

    Hope this helps.
