Windows Media PLayer Problem with Streaming Video

Hi All~

I have a problem with regarding WMP, it won't play streaming video, whenever i clicked on a streaming video, it will start up and then stay in the process of now playing... but nothing comes up except for the wmp screen. i installed both 6.4 and 7.1 but both have the same problem. even if i clicked on a mpeg, it won't play, i have to save the mpeg on my hard drive so it can play the file. what is the problem?? i am using windows 2000 and i installed the NIMO codec pack. Have you tried removin Windows Media player through the add/remove programs wizard, rebooting, then reinstalling it? (although I can't remember if you can uninstall media player under win2000, maybe not.)
