  1. When I try to convert an asf file I have the audio does fine all the way throung, but the video only converts about halfway then just stops on one frame. Some have said it may be a a junk frame so I tried repairing it with vdub 1.3c. I think I did it right, but it still did not convert all the way. Any other suggestions? Is there another converting tool taht will take asf/wmv files that I can use? 8)

I think I did it right, but
That's no good if you left any junk frames, TMPGEnc will give trouble

Your using Vdub 1.3C ASF so that is the easiest, there are others like Graphedit, but more complicated to use.

Re-load the AVI that you thought you had removed all the junk frames from, and do another scan

Ah !, one of those don't have the scan for junk frames.
There is a version of Vdub with ASF support "Vdub 1.4c ASF" but it also has scan for junk frames, it is on Kazaa

Video > scan video stream for errors

    Video > direct stream copy
    Audio > direct stream copy
    SAVE AVI
This saves out a copy without the junk frames. You can do this anyway and sometimes it will fix more of the problems, even without the scan.

    If you use TMPGEnc
you can also save out a AVI, don't know if that will also crash on the junk frames

File > output to file > AVI
