I want to use Xing mpeg encoder,
but whenever i try to convert a .avi file i get the following error message:
"Video source file may be in use by another program such as an editor or player. Close the other program and try again. This error can also occur if the file is an unsupported type or if it was created by a hardware codec that is no longer available on this machine."
I definately have the codecs because i am able to encode using tmpgenc and am able to play the video files, I am definately not playing the video file in any way on my computer anywhere else.
I really dont know how to get around this problem!

The encoded avi in in divx format, but i dont know what version.
