    I recently ripped my DVD with smart ripper. Now I have 5 VOB files that equal over 4 gigs. I want to combine these VOB files into one AVI file possibly making it under 1 gig or so. Is this possible? If so how?

    Uou can use flaskmpeg, dvdavi or dvdx

    Kinda simple with dvdx www.vcdhelp.com/dvdripping.htm#divx .
    www.doom9.org has also lots of very good divxguides.

    Now DIVx is giving me a AVIStream set error when I try encoding... anyonen know why?

    Ok after following the instructions on this site about DVD to DIVX. I get to the point where it says select you IFO file and hit ok. I do this and I get an error "no corosponding VOB file found." I looked in the folder and there ARE vob files there. Whats going on?
