All of the RNC tutorials start out with this line

Step 1 Start with high quality source from iMovie, Final Cut Pro, or Ripped DVD

    Quicktime Pro
Export movie to your favorite codec (I use iDVD option from iMovie)
Open your movie, under edit, Enable Tracks... click video to off.
File -> Export: Sound to Wave , Save as movie.wav
I understand the rest of the tutorial but how do you get to step 1 ? I have a .VOB from OSEx. QT Pro will not load a VOB. So what comes before Step 1 ?

You have to convert your .VOB to a Quicktime format (I use the Motion JPEG A codec at highest quality). You can use the MPEG-2 component available for Quicktime 6 Pro, or any other other freeware converters (MM2C is my favorite, for its deinterlacing feature; or MM2D). Since the freeware converters only transcode video, you'll need mAC3dec to decode the Dolby Digital stream, and Quicktime 5 Pro (or 6 Pro) to join the audio to the video before you can start with the RNC guides.

I think so. It is the one that only works with DVD Studio correct. If so, Yes I do have it. I am running QT 5 Pro with the MPEG-2 component.
But QT doesn't recognize VOBS. They are greyed out.

I understand this recommendation but then I am back to my old problem of not being able to sync the audio. QT mutilator doesn't work it either speeds up the video so much it looks live everyone is running or it makes the audio sound like chipmunks.

    HELP !
