I transfered a movie from my miniDV camcorder to the computer, then encoded into DVD-mpg2 using TMPGEnc. After waiting 15 hours for it the finish (for 22 minutes worth of video!!) I realized that I didn't want the first 5 seconds of the movie. So, I followed the cut/edit instruction for TMPGEnc to cut out the unwated scene. However, in the pull-down list where I select what type of video (step 1), the closest choice I have is "MPEG-2 SVCD". If I choose this one and proceed to cut the video, will I see any resoultion degradation? Or will the two mpg2 files (w/o the unwanted initial 5 seconds) be identical? I'm planning on making a video DVD out of this.
Thanks.
