Fast and the Furious DVD Rip

Hey everyone, I just tried to rip the dvd the fast and the furious but when i get to about 700mb of the first vob it stops and says it cant read it, then when i try to rip the other vob files it also can not read those, so i am wondering what is going on, it plays fine on my dvd player, and it doesnt seem to be THAT scratched up, is this cd protection or what? P.S. i used smart ripper and have ripped like 10 dvds before this and all went well.

I just ripped it a few weeks ago, but what I noticed is the reduction in extraction speed. It was humming along at ~4-5x, then toward the end of the ripping, it slowed down to ~1.5-2x ripping. I don't remember exactly where this happend, but it was greater than 50% ripped before the slowdown. I was using SmartRipper. After processing and encoding the movie, it worked just fine as a VCD.
