Please Help

I burned a VCD and when I go to play it on my DVD player (Phillips DVD711) it automatically goes to Audio Disk Mode. What am I doing wrong as far as encoding, burning, playing etc.?

I'm relatively new to this myself, but make sure the software that you are using to burn with is one that burns as a vcd not an audio cd.

It is. I used Nero to burn it.

Could please tell us exactly how you made the vcd.

I used VirtualDUb to get the WAV file then I used TMPGEnc to encode it. I used Nero to burn it onto a PNY CD-R. Even wierder is even though it comes up at the Audio Disk Mode screen there is no Audio at all.
