    i converted a avi file to mpeg-2 format and burned it as SVCD. The problem is that i coundn't play it. The player detected it as cd not SVCD. Please help

    Could you please give more information with which software you burnt the SVCD and with which settings.

    I'm not 100% positive about this, but I think I saw it in one of the forums, that the Pioneer DV626 can't play SuperVCD's, so that would explain your problem, I could be wrong though! you might want to check it on the forums.
