Does anyone know of a capture system that works with the VIA KT133A chip set? I know Dazzle, Pinnacle and Canopus will not work well with this chip set. Short of a new MB, are there any other suggestions?

Thats the chipset I use...I hear so many people saying how horrible it is, etc, etc...but I don't see anything wrong with it...

Well, I use a Winnov Videum VE, and capture sound through my sound card. I've also used a little Dazzle USB capture device(well, not dazzle, but the ideatical chipset...) some PCI Capture card(don't remember the name, but it's basically the capture hardware from a Voodoo3)

Also, I've seen a DV-REX M1 working perfect on this chipset...

Thanks for your reply. I just had good results with my ATI Video card. Now, I need editing software. Uleads might be good? I will give it a try. I know Pinnacle locks up horribly.

Ulead is pretty good...well, I have Video Studio 3...not bad to only be $10(bargain bin at Best Buy My main dislike, it's hard to get precice editing...however, I don't know what your trying to create, so this may not matter so much...

Ulead is one I may keep in mind. I used the VCDImagerGUI to create Cue/Bin files to burn with CDRWIN, but it cannot go beyong 10 to 15 minutes. Do you know of another Cue/Bin creator program?

  6. The ATI TV Wonder VE has been working good for me. It's taken some tweaking but I'm happy with the results for now.

I'm very happy with the KT133A chipset. I'm getting pretty damn good performance (IMHO) with a Duron 700 system.

  7. No problems here for me either, use my Radeon ViVo for analogue and my SB Audigy for digital.

Mosy motherboards *should* have incorporated the 686b patch into the BIOS by now...

Thanks for your replies guys. I can capture well, with my ATI 64 meg DDR VIVO board. I have the means to burn VCD's & SVCD's. I am going to try Pinnacle Systems AV Studio 7 , using my ATI card, and see what happens.

  10. I had problems with the KT133 chipset.

The KT133a chipset has worked and continues to work like a champ however. I've used a Dazzle DVC II, WinTV GO and PCI/FM, and a Sony DVMC-DA1 media converter and had -0- troubles.

    Just my two cents.....
