In the tests I've been running, I keep seeing this error in the encode logs. I'm targeting SVCD, but at non-standard bitrates and GOP structures. How can I identify the location of the problem and fix it? Should I even be worried. The error message comes with a packet number, but since my brain doesn't mux, the number doesn't help me much.
bah... nevermind. Isn't SVCD VBV 224? For some reason if you use 0 (automatic) TMPG uses 112, even when an SVCD System Stream is selected.

The VBV buffer size may be too small. Yes, you should be worried, the MPEG may not playback correctly on a standalone dvd player.
To answer your next question: No, there is no good way to change the VBV buffer size without reencoding. But you may try the MPEG tools "VBV opt." of TMPGEnc Beta12 (only this version has that tool). It helped me to "repair" some XVCD.
