  1. Hi. I have a collection of Laser Discs wich I think I can convert to VCD, one side of each laser disc per VCD.

Following the instructions found here and capturing to AVI and then converting to MPEG-1 I never got audio sync, and the video quality wasn't good either.

Downgrading MMC 7.1 to 6.3, (the one that came with the card), and capturing to MPEG-2 I can get very good quality of video and perfect audio sync.

However, finally my question, when I make the convertion to MPEG-1 the movement lose smoothness and the film seems more a slide show than a movie. The audio sync keeps perfect and the quality of the images is good but I still am not satisfied with the whole process , I think there's a way to obtain a smooth movement.

    Any Ideas?

  2. You can use SVCD or make sure you are deinterlacing the video, either at capture or in Tmpeg when encoding to VCD. Deinterlacing will "blurr" image motion and not make it so abrupt.
