  1. When i try to load an 'Ogg Vorbis' codec .AVI file into Virtual Dub 1.4.10 i get an error message - 'Cannot determine file type' - even though i have the codec because i can play in with Windows Media Player.
This would not be a problem if i could encode the file without seperating the audio with TMPGENC, everything seems fine but it keeps crashing or the computer unexpectedly restarts while the mpg is being encoded.

This crashing also sometimes happens woith other files - even when the audio stream has been seperated as according to the tutorial in vcdhelp, i have hardly any other programs running while encoding and i also have moved my two hard drives apart from each other encase they were heating each other up too much. I can't think of anything else which could be the problem?

  3. thanks,
i tried that, and i still get the same error that it cannot determine the file type.

is there any way to make tmpgenc more stable though beause it keeps on annoyingly crashing. (encoding with video from an avi file and audio from a wav file).

Don’t know what it is, but when someone gets a problem, everyone else seams to have the same problem. I guess they all downloaded the same movie

Start by installing the Nimo codec pack, it has Ogg Vorbis and DivX MPEG-4 V3

I'm scared of NIMO. After I installed it some of my ASF suddenly had a purple-ish tint.

Nimo does not cause this, but the SMR (Angel Portion) does and that is not included with Nimo.
