my grandpa bought me computer from the ads in tv. the one featured at http://www.tigertv.com/, my problem is i dont know what kind of cd-rw drive this copmuter has. i have tried reading all the manuals that comes with it, but there is nothing about the dvd drive and the cd-rw drive. does anybody have an idea? and pls tell me how and where to start. my goal is to transfer vhs to vcd. i already know the part where i need a capture card, coz my copmuter back home has a DV500 and a TEAC cd-rw, but i havent tried transferring vhs to vcd yet. pls tell me more about where i could get cheap and good capture card too.
    thank you very much.

  2. I don't think it really matters what kind of burner you've got, but more what burning software you use.

Personally, I use Nero for mpeg burning and CDRWin for bin/cue burning.

You should be able to tell what type of burner you have by looking at your hardware profiles through the control panel.

Get yourself into the how-to manuals on this site. A few months ago I couldn't do any of this stuff, but now, I'm not too bad at it!

You should experiment at first, my advice is buy a big load of cheap CD-R's, you'll probably make a lot of coasters at first!

Make sure you read the guides here though, they really helped me out.

    Good luck
