I am frameserving from virtualdub to cce because i need subtitles. the question is...How? I use to be able to open a vdr file in cce but since i have upgraded to win2k i am not able to. Is there away to do this and how do i go about doing it? Is there a handler i can install for this?
I tried using my vdr file in tmpgenc and then saving that file to a tpr and then converting that with vfapi and then loading the resulting file in cce but the frameserver is not serving the frames. any help or insight would be appreciated. thanks

Go to the Vdub directory, there you will find AuxSetup.exe. Doubleclic on it, install handler and close that window. Open the aviproxy subdirectory, doubleclic on Proxyon.reg> yes> yes. Start VirtualDub, open your video file. Do what you use to do and start frameserver. Save as whatever.avi instead of whatever.vdr. Start CCE, add whatever.avi to the encoder list. After finish uninstall the frameserver by running the PROXYOFF.REG file.
This method doesn't work with cce sp 2.62.

Hi.
I think I remember posting the solution to this problem somewhere in vcdhelp a while back....
Basically what you do is use a string of softwares:
Vdub -> Avisynth -> VFAPI -> CCE
In more detail:
1. Start Vdub frameserver to a "name.vdr" file;
2. Define an .avs file (avisynth) that points to (opens)name.vdr
3. Start VFAPI and open the .avs file with it. Itīll open just like the vdr. Tell VFAPI to convert the file, and it will create a "name.avi"
4. Open "name.avi" with CCE.
I work with CCE 2.62, no problems. If I try to bypass Avisynth the whole thing doesnīt work.
best regards

Never could get the aviproxy option to work...
